Today...Flight Action

Well, we are now in Newfoundand...we parked our loaded van at the Halifax Airport, and just took the bare minimum (we wanted carry ons only, luggage pick up).

Nathan & Deon were beyond excited -- this was Nathan's first time on a plane, and Deon's 2nd (he was only 5 the first time). Everything went smoothly, except that my shampoos were conviscated because they were over 100 mls. What a dumb rule....

The flight itself was pretty uneventful. The boys were happy that WestJet offered them a complimentary snack and drink on the plane. Coming back down, Nathan had a hard time with pressure in his ears. He suffered for the last 15 minutes of the flight, and for another 15 minutes after landing. So much for his excitement...he said he was never going to fly again!!! We're stil not sure how he's getting back to Nova Scotia in 3 days.

We got to St. John's, Nfld @ 1:00 and picked up our rental vehicle -- a light blue 4-door Malibu. The hostel we're in is really nice...very homey, quiet. We have the main floor, but share the kitchen with 2 other guests from upstairs. We had a quiet afternoon, just settling in, grocery shopping, and taking a couple walks around the city including down to the Nfld. harbor area.
