Vive le Montreal

This is Mom (Shirley's mom) writing this morning....

We left Guelph at 7:30 and headed for the belle province. Traffic going towards and out of Toronto was horrendous! Never had we driven through miles and miles of rush hour before. We arrived at our hostel at 3:30. After driving around 3 times we finally figured out how to get to the parking lot. No right turns on red lights in Monteal. Shirley had read that and experienced it a couple of times. No she didn't get too frustrated.

After supper we took the metro - subway to old Montreal and walked around there. And walked some more. The boys were still running at that point. There are some neat old buildings there alot of people strolling around. It was a gorgeous evening. Its very hilly here so a lot of up and down. I (mom) sure got my exercise.

This morning we are off to the Old city...Quebec City that is.

  4. Love reading your travelling blog so far, Shirley! It makes moving and that trip for us to Ontario seem a bit more fun and bearable. I am glad you mentioned your disappointment about the Corner Gas place because we were going to go out of our way travelling there because the kids love the show, but now we might just skip it. Have a good Sunday today.

  6. hey, aunt jackie...we know already you are "a nut", but really you didn't have to remind us. "aunt in south ab" would have been just fine. :)

  7. Ger/Dav...yes we thought we may have been a bit crazy doing that, but the 401 wasn't as bad as we thought it would be. The worst was the slow traffic in the Toronto area...once we got through that it was a breeze.
